How to Undo the Damage of a High-Carb Meal
We live in a society that worships carbohydrates. No matter where you go, you’ll find carbohydrates are the main food that is consumed. It’s at work in the candy bowls and in the lunch break rooms. It’s at home in the cupboards. Carbohydrates are at every business convention, served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can’t escape them.
Because of their prevalence, you have to know what to do when you eat too many carbohydrates at a time, especially when you’re on a diet. High amounts of carbohydrates eaten at one time damage your body in several ways.
They cause an insulin reaction, which makes your body store all food eaten as fat. They pack the weight on, and you can expect an increase of at least half a pound from one bout of eating too many of them. And they affect your arteries, veins, digestive tract, brain and literally every organ in your body.
Do you know that brain fog you’re trying to eliminate during the day? Clear up the carbohydrates and the brain fog will leave.
Here are five ways to help mitigate the damage that eating a lot of carbohydrates all at one time does to the body:
1. Drink apple cider vinegar
Acidic substances such as a mixture of 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar in a glass of water is a good way to stop the blood sugar reaction from occurring. You could get a similar response from eating ½ cup real sauerkraut.
2. Eat more protein
Protein helps prevent the rapid rise in blood sugar levels along with the rapid fall. Are you eating enough at your meals? A minimum of three ounces at a meal, or 21 grams, will help you balance the correct fat and carbohydrate levels of a meal. But anything less means you’re eating a diet too low in protein.
3. Eat more fat
Fat has been demonized in our society and now we’re paying the price of it with low hormone levels, faulty nervous systems, and weight gain. By adding some fat to your meals, you’ll regain the right balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.
4. Exercise with gusto
Immediately after eating, start moving. Of course, this doesn’t mean go swimming; that’s a rule we all know. One survivalist ‘whipped’ all his recruits in shape by having them do 2 minutes of intense exercise that could involve jumping rope after a meal to ensure that the blood sugar was taken up by the muscles. They experienced great losses of weight within a month.
5. Take some Stevia
Eating a lot of carbs means your blood sugar will go too high. Taking blood sugar lowering herbs will help pull it down. If you’re using the stevia leaf, a cup of tea made with ½ teaspoon stevia leaves is plenty.
Thanks for posting!!! Really the tips are boon for me. As I am a diabetic patient, my doctor advised me not to take sugar unless it’s harmful to me. Dally takes two cup coffee and tea, it's my hobby. But without sugar, it’s tasteless. Now I am using sugar free Iced Tea from Stevia My Store, which make me happy healthy life with tasty coffee.
